Mauricio Pita
I’m an actor, producer, director, and educator with extensive experience working with young actors. My background includes co-leading the Voices of Now (VON) program at Arena Stage, and leading the Paso Nuevo Youth Performance Group at GALA Hispanic Theatre. As an actor I've performed at the Lincoln Center, Manhattan Theater Club, Repertorio Español in New York City, The Kennedy Center, The Bushwick Starr, Studio Theatre, GALA Hispanic Theatre, Olney Theatre Center, and beyond; and have produced films that have screened at the Academy Award and Canadian Screen Award qualifying international film festivals. I’ve directed for InSeries Opera, GALA Hispanic Theater, ENOUGH! Plays to End Gun Violence (Kennedy Center, Olney, Theatre Alliance.) We Happy Few and hold a BFA in Acting from Marymount Manhattan College and attended the Shakespeare Conservatory for Actors at Yale University.
